Salex’s Night at the Races Raises $42,000 for SickKids Hospital

Over the past 14 years, Salex has proudly supported the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) through our Night at the Races event. This event brings together colleagues and friends from the architecture, interior design, and engineering industries, to network and support an important cause, while celebrating dynamic new lighting products. This year, close to 200 attendees gathered to socialize over cocktails, a delicious dinner and of course, horse racing, at Woodbine Racetracks.

The evening also featured an illuminating trade show from 11 Canadian vendors including: axis, Artemide, Beghelli, DeltaLight, legrand, Liteline, Lumenwerx, SGi Lighting, Osram Encelium, Viso and Viscor, who showcased some of their latest cutting-edge products for both interior and exterior spaces.

Salex partners Nick Puopolo, Paul Hudson and George Katinas also took to center stage as the evening’s MCs and guests had a chance to win one of many amazing prizes generously donated by Salex manufacturers. Special thanks to Ed Gesch of Ecco Electric for his generous donation, and congratulations to Marcel Dion of Marcel Dion Lighting Design who won the evening’s 50/50 draw – which he generously donated back to support SickKids’ Smiles of Innocence Memorial Charity.

With Salex matching total funds donated, we are proud to announce that the evening successfully raised $42,000. To date, Salex’s Night at the Races event has raised over $400,000 for SickKids and with our industry partner’s help, we look forward to continuing to support the children’s hospital in the years to come.
